What is 'Near Neighbours'?
 
The idea is to bring people of different faiths together who are near neighbours in communities that are diverse, so they can get to know each other better, build relationships as people and collaborate together on initiatives that improve the local community they live in. Read more here
 
This event is for people in Bradford, Burnley and Oldham who are leaders, activists and volunteers concerned about their communities, seeking to share their stories, be inspired by others and committed to engaging locally. We are keen to include those who have received Near Neighbours grants. We are working in partnership with Bradford Council for Mosques and  Bradford Churches for Dialogue and Diversity
 
Speakers include:
 
Objectives, Content and Workshops 
  • To establish dialogue, to work together and build friendships between Christians and Muslims in the Northern mill towns
  • Training for Near Neighbours Leaders
  • Addressing issues in our community
  • Including women and young people
  • Christian-Muslim dialogue groups
  • Scripture discussions
  • Action Planning for Near Neighbours Leaders
  • Applying for Near Neighbours Grants

Event Details
  • Start at 15.00 on Friday 5 October and finish at 16.00 on Saturday 6 October
  • Venue: Hinsley Hall, Diocese of Leeds Pastoral Centre, 62 Headingley Lane, Leeds, LS6 3BX
  • Waged: £20, Unwaged: £10, Bursaries £0, prices include refreshments, lunch, dinner and overnight accommodation.
  • A photographer will be present at this event.
