What can we say to our children about the state of the world?

An Evening of Reflections for Advent with Canon Chris Chivers and Anjum Anwar MBE

Wednesday 9 November 6.30pm

St John the Divine, Vassal Road, London SW9 6JA

Come and hear Canon Chris Chivers, Principal of Westcott House and Chair of USPG and Anjum Anwar MBE, formerly Dialogue Development Officer at Blackburn Cathedral and CMF Trustee, discussing and reading from their new book of Advent reflections, "Letters to Jonny: Journeying to Bethlehem by Different Roads."

Chris will be exploring how the Christian message of hope can inspire us to live meaningfully in the face of terrorism and war. His reflections are based on travels made with Anjum to meet people of all faiths in India, Kenya, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, and the United Arab Emirates.  Anjum will be responding to Chris's reflections from a Muslim perspective.

The reflections were written for Chris's young son Jonny and for all who want to uphold the hope of Advent in a complex and divided world.
