Launch of Commission on Interfaith Relations in the UK

The Woolf Institute in Cambridge has begun work on its Commission on Interfaith Relations: UK Faith Groups and Global Conflicts.

The Commission, which will assess the state of interfaith relations in the UK, with a particular emphasis on how current and emerging conflicts overseas can become points of tension within the UK, is chaired by Dr Ed Kessler MBE, Founder President of the Woolf Institute. The Rt Rev Lusa Nsenga-Ngoy, Bishop of Willesden and lead on interfaith relations for the Church of England is Vice-Chair.

The Commission’s work will encompass input from experts in the fields of religion and interfaith relations in the form of presentations, roundtables and panel discussions – alongside community conversations across the UK.

A final report is expected in May 2027.
